We stopped in Boulogne on the way back from a trip to France, and went again to upper city, close by the Cathedral. This is a dining area, full of restaurants, all offering traditional French food, (some with a nod to the English) and I am delighted to say that whenever I come to the area of Boulogne, we always have a good meal, and that at sensible prices too!My choice this visit was Fish Soup (delicious, and served with a proper Rouille and Cheese) a thoroughly enjoyable Boeuf Bourginonne and followed by a good Apple Tart, all washed down with a large glass of Cote du Rhone for less than 25 Euros. Complaints ...none really, service is quite slow, and like most French places their idea of a Cappucino is really weird! My wife enjoyed a similar treat, this time having a really nicely cooked piece of Skate for her mains.Yes we will come again. Only the slow service prevents me from awarding 5 stars...but I accept that I may just have been unlucky in that regard. But I want readers that they should not expect anywhere in this part of France to be capable of producing a decent coffee!!
Because I don’t recognise any of the complaints and negative comments .If you are expecting Michelin quality food ,go elsewhere . But, as in my previous report , we found the patron , and staff friendly and attentive, and the food wholesome , even gently chiding my wife for not making it to the end of a large serving of frits and veg , alongside her tender , done to perfection , fillet steak .Our meal , as well as the steak , consisted of a plate of oysters for her . and pate for me , again attentiveness bought me extra bread to finish my pate . these were followed by the steak and for me Assiette du pêcheur à la bisque de homard , fish stew , which was excellent .Sweet was Crème brûlée and Fondant au chocolat, again delicious , washed down with Rosé Grenache.This is our third or fourth visit to the restaurant , and again we were not disappointed
Super situé en vieille ville et assez mignon à l'intérieur.Service nickel, rien a dire là dessus.Gros moins bien au niveau des assiettes. Produit surgelés, sûrement de type industriel. Nous ne nous sommes pas spécialement régalé. Au niveau de des desserts c'est même fade et juste posé dans l'assiette. La crème brulé n'est même pas brûlé c'est juste une une crème avec une couche de sucre brûlé au dessus, franchement moyen.Egalement au niveau des boissons, quasiment sure Que les softs proviennent de bouteille, pas terrible pour un resto. Niveau prix c'est correct mais vu la qualité des produits je dirais que c'est normal...En conclusion je dirais que c'est un resto attrape touriste nous n'y retournerons pas.
