I stopped by La Promesa after running errands in Sterling and was hesitant at first, but I don't regret my decision at all. This place was absolutely amazing! I ordered a Salvadoran hot chocolate, and it tasted fantastic. My breakfast was served hot and fresh. The pollo con tajada was incredible—definitely coming back. The customer service was excellent, and I'm so happy I discovered this little gem. The menu offers delicious options that you won’t want to miss. Food: 5/5
There's a lot of competition in Central American restaurants in the area, but La Promesa goes above and beyond of the competition.The place is a chill restaurant/marketplace with breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. Their tacos and pupusas are great, can recommend.Service is great, if a bit slow at times, but they're attentive and otherwise excellent. It's just a nice, chill place for food.
La Promesa has the best pupusas around the Sterling area. My favorite pupusas are made in Los Chorros located in Maryland, but since I?ve been in VA for quite some time now La Promesa is my new favorite pupusa place. I definitely recommend them. You must try the chicken pupusas! Apart from the food the staff is friendly and I love the music that plays as soon as I open their door!
The food at La Promesa was excellent, though the restrooms could have been cleaner. Overall, the experience was good. The restaurant is kid-friendly, which is great—they do have high chairs available for babies, helping to keep little ones comfortable and happy. The pupusas were good. I recommend those! I would skip the nachos, mostly because they use canned nacho cheese. Horchata tasted like they use real milk instead of rice milk. I probably won’t be back but did want to give a fair rating for the pupusas andfair warning about the nachos.
first time eating a La Promesa; Food was great. Highly recommend the zucchini and cheese pupusas. Everything was fresh and warm. I also had the shrimp, steak and chicken fajitas which was delicious. Love the tortillas!
SO GOOD! Got tacos and papusas and both were great. I ate the tacos too fast, didn?t have a chance to take a pic. Here?s a pic of the papusas though. Super friendly staff and great service!!
The Papusa here are awesome. Always flavorful. And the chicken Papusa's don't contain chicken gristle, like some places I've tried. Réservez une table maintenant
The service was polite and quick but the pupusas were mediocre, the curtido plain and salsa runny. Not bad but not great.
