Our third visit to La Q was extremely disappointing. (In fact, I almost allocated the one-spot TERRIBLE to our experience.) We and our two friends - who live in the area - were looking forward to a catch-up and good food. We certainly caught up with each other but the good food was gone and the service was dismal.On arrival we asked for flute glasses for the sparkling wine. The waiter returned to the table and said: "There are only three flutes left so one of you will have to use a wine glass." In a restaurant that was only one-third full? This is a restaurant that I feel compelled to review because I think it is an exceptional local gem offering incredible value and excellent service. I think it is as good as any charming little restaurant I have eaten at in Italy. There is linen on the tables and plenty of staff on hand to make you feel like a valued customer. There is not music blaring so you can have conversation in a relaxing atmosphere. I've been here several times and I find the food to be spot on for a family meal. Three of us stumbled upon La Q on Christmas Eve, after arriving in Melbourne late in the evening. Nothing much was open in Kew, but we are so happy that we found La Q, as our pizzas were delicious. Vegetarian, Hawaiian and Margherita were all so tasty, with bases, including one gluten free base, which was the best I've tasted. Service was good and the prices were very reasonable. The restaurant is really authentic. Will be back as soon as we are next in Kew visiting family.
Pinocchio let us down. Window signs saying open. Obviously weren't. Went down street to La Q. Understaffed, but may have been cos of unexpected arrivals from Pinocchio. First up offer drinks. Guests will largely not panic about ordering food if they have a drink in their hand. food good, prices ok. Have been thereover the years and it is generally good ordinary tucker and service

My niece was violently ill after eating spaghetti carbanara my pizza was not wood fired and so soggy that it was inedible. Even though I am a local had visited the café previously and wondered why at 8pm on Thursday it was empty no surprise afterward. I left a note next day but had no response terrible place.
A great family run resturant with lovely homemade pizza and pasta( which is hard to find in the area) the staff are friendly. The service is quick (this resturant is a regular for my family. I highly reccomend the pasta pockets!!!! The only thing is once or twice we have had sore tummys after eating here
Nice and friendly with the kitchen seen from most of the restaurant. Good variety of dishes with nightly specials. Paella was one of the night's specials. Very good rissotto, but not sure I'd call it paella.
We had takeaway pizza and it was quick and tasty. The base was lovely and thin. Staff were good although it was quiet and felt a bit like all the staff stopped and stared while we ordered.

I admit, when I can I eat there a couple of times a week, either with friends or delivery - which is free. Unbelievable Gnocchi Poĺlo, in fact everything is really good.
Pizza with the lot...terrific Pasta pockets...magnificent Stick date with butterscotch sauce ... yummo
