We ate outside the restaurant, savoring the evening in Sarlat and the fact that everyone seated near us was chatting with each other. Definitely a local 's sort of place. Then a man approached whose voice was slurred and he wobbled as he walked. He asked how to get to the gare the train station. A man at the next table the woman at his table had been holding court with the other locals got up, put his arm under the wobbling man 's elbow, and led him away. It was a completely gentle gesture. The tone of the chatter at the restaurant dropped for half a minute, then all was the same. The helper man returned about 15 minutes later. D'ailleurs je supprime mon précédent avis qui avait été écrit sous la colère ! Nous y sommes allés et avons été choqués par le serveur qui selon nous NE MÉRITE PAS CE TRAVAIL ! La nourriture était bonne. Il a mal pris nos commandes, les boissons sont arrivées au milieu des entrées malgré le fait que nous l'ayons demandé deux fois. Le vin n'est pas arrivé... Certaines boissons ne sont même jamais arrivées ! Le plat principal était froid. Dessert après 25 mns d'attente. Nous avons parlé au gérant après le dîner qui s'est montré aux petits soins, pour exprimer notre colère. Ce serveur ne devrait pas, ne mérite pas ce travail. Il ne semble pas disposé à travailler. Il n'est pas professionnel et...

Sarlat was heaving when we visited and people were queueing for tables. We were greeted in a very friendly manner and offered a table inside the restaurant which we gratefully accepted. The tables were thoughtfully distanced in view of the current COVID regulations. The menu was in line with other restaurants in Sarlat, mainly duck or steak but my husband chose an omelette which made a nice change. I chose a three course set menu which was very good value. Wine was by the bottle rather than the usual carafe so I drank a little more than normal. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly and we enjoyed the experience immensely. We hope to return the next time we are in the area.

We ate lunch here on a recent trip to the Dordogne. There is lots of choice for both adults and children, with a fixed menu or a la Carte. I had the magret du canard which was enormous! Followed by chocolate mousse for pudding. All in all a pleasant experience.

Our second meal here, with great company, food and wine. We chose a mix between Plat du Jour and à la carte which worked wonderfully. Great service and atmosphere will come back again!
