The Ribera del Duero is a large region filled with bodegas (wineries). Unfortunately, we were only driving through on our way from Asturias to Madrid, but Aranda de Duero was exactly on the way during lunch. We came to this restaurant sight unseen, and boy were we happy with our choice. Although it is tiny from the front, the glass doors behind the front bar open up to a large and sunny dining room. We were seated by a very friendly woman and served by a nice young woman who spoke excellent English. Unfortunately since we had more driving to do, we could only have a single glass of wine, but it was spectacular. The salad has chunks of fried chicken, and tasted very good. We shared the lobster paella, which was absolutely lovely. We were too stuffed for dessert, but our son had a brownie with ice cream and liked it so much that we probably wouldn't have given us a bite even if we had asked! This is a solid restaurant in Spain's Ribera Del Duero region.
We'd booked this restaurant before we traveled, after reading reviews on here, and we weren't disappointed. The food was exceptional, with some modern twists on regional classics. The salads were incredible, we had the confit duck salad, and crispy hot chicken, both amazing. We followed this with a Paella, again, delicious, and finished with desserts that were among the best I've had. All the portions are generous, so be careful what you order. The wine list is great too, as you'd expect. We came back for lunch too, as we kept thinking about those warm salads, and the second time was just as good. Recommend to anyone!
We went to this restaurant as it was recommended, although I had not realized that they do not offer the traditional lamb of the region and are rather specialized in seafood. Food was excellent though, interesting offer, the salad with chicken and oranges delicious, the artichokes very good as well and the fish too! Good service and nice atmosphere, would go there again! Only desserts could be improved.
