La Roue - Réserver une table

Having visited nearby Peche Merle cave we stumbled across this restaurant. It looked a little unprepossessing at first but boy, can first impressions be wrong. We had the best meal of our holiday here. The food was excellent-well cooked, seasoned and expertly presented. The staff were happy, smiling and very efficient. We were slightly late but this was not a problem and being seated outside could enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the pleasant sunshine. My pork was perfect as was Pam's lamb. We ended up at La Roue after calling around the surrounding villages in search of a restaurant willing to do a vegan menu. Staff at the restaurant were super welcoming to us, paying special attention to my vegan friend and coming up with exciting options for her lunch, including a vegan welcome appetiser which was a lovely attention. The food was delicious and well presented, vegan and not. The village is charming and the terrace is cool and shaded with a nice view. Altogether we were really really happy with our meal there. Bienvenue dans la simplicité et la convivialité. Cadre agréable tout en étant très simple. En revanche, la cuisine élaborée par La Cheffe est une pure merveille que nous ne nous attendions pas à trouver dans ce restaurant d'apparence si ordinaire. Parfum, qualité, quantité. Tout cela bien préparé avec beaucoup d'application. Nous avons apprécié. De loin le meilleur déjeuner de notre semaine dans le Lot. Un grand coup de cœur pour ce restaurant que je recommande vivement.

On a pouring wet Sunday, having just visited the Pech Merle cave, we found La Roue and were so glad to have stopped there. It catered for everyone in our group of four, one of whom is a vegan, with delicious, freshly prepared food. The salmon and the magret de canard were probably the best we tasted in a fortnight's holiday. Don't miss the sculpture workshop just across the parking area while you are there.

I return to this small restaurant for lunch about 4 times a year, the food is fantastic, not michelin star but well worth the detour, the cafe gourmand is worth a review of its own. Really friendly staff and charming spot.

Un endroit où l'on se sent comme à la maison, un personnel très sympathique, un lieu très agréable et des patrons très chaleureux. La quantité et la qualité sont au rendez-vous. Nous recommandons vivement cet endroit.

Had a great ice cream and coffee here in the middle of a rainstorm. Lovely staff, great setting and a warm welcome. Popped in after a visit to the caves. Thank you.

An impromptu choice while we were exploring the valley of the Célé on a hot day. We ate on a shaded outdoor terrace among plenty of other lunchers
