Took some guests from Melbourne here on a Saturday night. Service was prompt and non intrusive. The food was not the best Italian food. It was lacking the punchy flavours you expect from good Italian food. Portions were generous however. The entrees, calamari and scallops, were pleasant. Atmosphere was not the most inviting. Was quite noisy and hard to hold a conversation with the other people at the table. Overall an average experience.
I absolutely love this place. Always busy, not the quietest place however the food and service is exceptional. The Balmain bug spaghetti is one of my favourite dishes. Also having tried the risotto, ravioli and antipasto plates and I really think this place is an all rounder. Wouldn't recommend going if on a budget but if you're after great Italian, good wine and great location and service La Rustica should be at the top of your list.
Reminds me of Soffia's in Melbourne. It didn't appear that way as we took our seats, the place was super packed. Probably 150 people in the restaurant. My husband's spaghetti was too oily and my ravioli was flat and tasteless. Such a shame as we were really looking forward to some tasty vegetarian pasta! Staff were friendly and the bathroom facilities are clean.
Wow!!! Amazing food coupled with warm gracious service. I would love to go back again and again. This is the restaurant we visited on our first night in canberra and it was a great experience!!!! Réservez une table maintenant
We had a great time at dinner tonight. The ambiance was a bit noisy, but the food was delicious and it was lovely to sit outside. We started with the veal carpaccio.
Headed here for dinner to catchup with friends, very noisy restaurant and seating is a little bit cramped but the food was great. Very nice Italian.
