"We visited on a Saturday lunchtime before going to the rugby. Just what we were looking for excellent food, good wine, all at a very reasonable price for the quality of the meal and friendly service as well. We particularly enjoyed theatrical crepe suzettes. Good rugby chat with the locals as well."

Located in a small square in Castres this restauarant has it all. Excellent food, great wine and at a good price. We stayed in Castres for 6 days and had planned to visit on monday but they were closed and so went back we were determined. What you have is inside and outside seating, a warm friendly atmosphere, a limited menu focusing on local ingredients with a twist and some outstanding wine at great value. We were slightly concerned at the slight frostiness of the owner when we walked in but don't be put off he is charming! He recommended an excellent Galliac white wine for 18 Euros which was one of the best white wine we have had for a long time. We then ordered from the fixed price men t...

Attended here with friends on numerous recommendations. Phillipe Corrine were so kind to fit us in on a busy evening for them. Unfortunately we were late due to a flight delay, however, Phillipe Corrine were very accommodating. They were both so knowledgeable and passionate about Wine. This made a great start to a fantastic weekend in Castres. Will definitely return to complete the full tasting and would definitely recommend.

The food was fine and the set menu was good value. With regard to the wine, I went with their recommendation. Both the red and the white were superb and extremely good value. Service was efficient and attentive. The negative was that due to the weather we had to eat inside. The décor is a bit dark and austere and not atmospheric. We will be back when we can eat on the attractive terrace outside.

This was the epitome of a rude and frumpy proprietor who didn't want tourist custom and treated us with little short of contempt it was almost amusing I blame myself for ordering their plat de jour because it's a price point product but even then it should be edible ours wasn't Get your act together Monsiuer proprietor and be at least civil to English tourists giving you their custom!
