Nous avons découvert ce restaurant par pur hasard en conduisant à travers les rues sinueuses de la ville de Parthenay. En réalité, il n'est pas loin de la place principale. Nous sommes arrivés sans réservation, le restaurant était très calme (ce qui n'est pas toujours bon signe), mais la soirée avançait...alors nous avons décidé de tenter notre chance. La nourriture était délicieuse. De haute qualité, magnifiquement présentée et très savoureuse. Le personnel était amusant et attentif. Nous avons pris place dehors sur la petite terrasse, ce qui était agréable jusqu'à ce que des voitures passent. Ce n'est pas une route très fréquentée, mais bruyante quand elles passent.
We were wandering around the town looking for somewhere to eat and came across the visually inviting establishment with decking out front. Albeit, freezing cold, February and out of season, it still looked nice. We entered and were greeted by 2 gentlemen, one the chef, the other the manager/waiter. We were seated in the window and promptly given menus and asked if we wanted a aperitif whilst we perused. We ordered a bavette and a pave and 2 glasses of merlot ( we were too tired for a bottle)!. Most enjoyable, pleasant service. The only drawback,is translation. In these little know tourist towns you really need to brush up on your French!
Found this by pure chance while driving around the town of Parthenay through the winding back streets. In reality it is only just off the main square.We arrived without reservation, restaurant was very quiet (not always a good sign) but the evening was getting on so we decided to take a chance.The food was delightful. High quality, beautifully presented and very tasty. The staff were fun and attentive.We sat outside on the small terrace which was nice all the time there were no cars passing. Not a busy road but noisy when they DID pass.
J'ai remarqué ce restaurant en me promenant autour de Parthenay, il semblait assez correct. Nous étions les seuls clients et le propriétaire semblait également être le serveur et le chef, il était assez agréable mais la nourriture laissait à désirer. Les escargots étaient secs et ratatinés et le steak était plutôt dur et caoutchouteux. Le service était correct.

noticed this restaurant wandering around parthenay it looked quite ok. we were the only customers and the owner seemed to also be the waiter and chef he was pleasantenough but the food let the place down. dry and shrivelled up snails and a steak which was a rather tough and chewy. service was fine.
We found this lovely restaurant by chance. excellent choice on the menu, prices are good too. Very good size portions and tasty food. The staff are friendly and helpful. Sitting inside or on a small terrace outside. Would go back.
J'ai passé un excellent repas ici avec de délicieuses pizzas pour les enfants et du confit de canard/agneau pour nous, les adultes ! Trop pleins pour être tentés par le dessert. Personnel amical et ambiance charmante.
Bonne nourriture. Je n'ai rien à redire. Nous avons mangé du jarret d'agneau et du steak de thon pour les plats principaux et les gourmands du café. Tout cela est vraiment charmant !

Had our evening meal here, Debra was our hostess, really great food and wine at very reasonable cost. Thankyou. One not to miss in Parthenay.
Lovely food. Couldn't fault it. We had lamb shank and tuna steak for mains and 2 cafe gourmands. All really lovely!
