La Taverne de Saint Jacques

This is the first restaurant we found when we ventured from our campsite and decided to give it a try. It was full of french people when we arrived, which we took to be a good sign. My husband and I were made very welcome and customers and staff were very amused by our attempts to speak french, but between us we made ourselves understood. The staff were helpful and friendly. I highly recommend the entrecôte steak which was HUGE! perfectly cooked and delicious.

Lots of outdoor seating, under a canopy, for sunny days and a nice rustic, inside restaurant. We both enjoyed a generous serving of Foie Gras followed by one large steak and one sweetbreads, all nicely presented. The beer was good and the wine by carafe was acceptable. Service was pleasant and all reasonably priced.

On aime manger ici pour déjeuner en terrasse. Cela peut être un endroit très fréquenté et le coin salon extérieur a été agrandi depuis l'année dernière, ce qui aide ! Bon rapport qualité/prix et personnel sympathique. Endroit prisé des marcheurs.

Nous avons mangé dans ce petit restaurant à deux reprises lors de nos récentes vacances. Le menu à prix fixe composé de trois plats, vin et café inclus, le tout pour 13 €, est irréprochable. Bonne nourriture et service.

We stopped here during a trip to this lovely old fortified town. It was for a coffee and nibbles, and we were very impressed with the location, the service and value for money.
