La Taverne du Vigneron

J'ai essayé de réserver une table le lundi : Non, nous sommes complets ! Demain peut-être? Non, nous sommes fermés le mardi et le mercredi. Désolé ? Jamais entendu ce mot. Le jeudi : oui, nous avons une table. L'entrée, une 'salade Alsacienne', était principalement composée de laitue ordinaire. Le vin était correct, mais j'ai dû demander 4 fois une carafe d'eau. Le plat principal, la 'choucroute Alsacienne', était une immense montagne de choucroute avec des tranches de viande, toutes avec le même goût. Tout avait la même apparence aussi, car il faisait nuit et les tables étaient éclairées avec des LED violettes affreuses. Je ne pouvais pas faire la différence entre l'eau ou le vin, la pomme...

I've been tonight to this lovely traditional restaurant and con only say: GO THERE!! They are friendly, the place is traditional and very warm, the food is simply amazing. Not only the servings are delicious but also the quantity is truly abundant and you will hardly get out hungry... A very good wine list both of local wines and others, will complete a very special dinner. An absolutely must go place!!!

We ate at this restaurant twice during our 5-day stay in Guebwiller. It is necessary to book as it fills up very quickly. The staff are very helpful and there is a very good atmosphere. The food is very well cooked with local specialties available.

This is a popular local restaurant in the main square right next to the church. They serve the standard Alsatian dishes. I had carpes frite which was nicely battered and fried. My wife had truite au Riesling with a tasty white sauce.

Locals only place. Busy, friendly and reasonable service. Traditional decor and cuisine. The blue trout used for the fish main course can be seen swimming in a glass tank.
