We have been here before some years ago and decided to go again. It is not so far from where we live and as we booked in advance we had a nice table. Service and friendliness were ok although no or very poor sense of...humour. We ordered a paella for 2 and were quite disappointed. The paella had not much to do with the ones we usually eat in Spain. It was more rice than seaafod and a bit of chicken. We dediced to leave after the main course and had a fantastic ice cream as desert very close by in the pedestrian area. Cannot recommend this restaurant
Every year we attend an event at Hockenheimring and during our stay in Walldorf, we visit La Tortuga at least 3 or 4 times each year during our stay (since 2015). Each time the food and service is superb. There is a small outside area...where you can dine al fresco or you can dine inside the restaurant. Both are plenty dining experiences. Hidden down a side street off the main road through the town, be sure to pay this place a visit. Great menu choices and great value for money.
This was my 3rd visit to La Tortuga over the past several years with business colleagues. Tapas is certainly the focus however the menu does have standard dining faire. I ordered the steak with onions and pomme frites dinner which was very good, cooked as...ordered and priced ok. The menu is very well balanced and they had no problem accommodating the dietary requirements of our group. The restaurant does not open until 6pm. I would go back.
Overall everything was okay. I found a lot of the dishes under seasoned and a bit bland. Service was a bit spotty. Favorites were the baked cheese and sardines. Potato tortilla was okay, but under seasoned. We tried the penne as well, but it was...a bit bland. Prices and dish sizes were very reasonable for tapas. like a 3.5 than 3 rating. A nice place to visit from time to time. Tapas is a good choice. Of course, if you want something different, the menu is quite extensive. I took the Tortuga tapas, enough for 2 or even 3 people to eat. Good service, good company. The...only problem: weather... lots of rain outside but this La Tortuga cannot resolve.
I enjoy tapas, and I had some every time I visit Spain. I went to La Tortuga with a friend and we took the tapas choice for 2 not a good choice, I should have chosen each tapas individually: the house selection is not...exciting, the tapas quality is really average. Service however is really nice.
We had a great evening. As requested we sat in a quiet corner of the restaurant as it can be quite loud during busy times. Drinks and food were delivered timely and were quite tasty. The tapas platter was a great choice as we could...try various dishes and joyfully share.
