"Always looking for a better pizza around the Bassin and so far this is one of the better ones. I chose the one with the Saint-Jacques and was satisfied with the thin nicely crusty pizza and generous topping. Wine prices were a bit above what could be expected for a recent vintage."

In August of 2016 my husband and I went to this restaurant with my daughter, her husband and my 2 grandsons. My daughter and husband were celebrating their wedding anniversary and because we were holidaying together they decided it would be nice for us all to celebrate together. Vache sur le toit looked like a place where we could relax with children (aged 4 and 7). It was the worse experience I have ever had in a restaurant. The service was atrocious. My daughter and I waited 1hr 30mins for our main course and it was practically thrown at us. My daughter ordered a risotto but what she got was a big bowl of sticky rice with a few bits thrown into it. It was tasteless and didn't even vaguely resemble a risotto. When my husband told the waiter that it didn't look or taste like a risotto one would get in Italy he was told very sharply that we were not in Italy but France. We ordered a bottle of Bordeaux wine which when it came to the table felt like it had come from a fridge. My husband (who is French and knows his wines), reported it to the waiter who insisted that it had come from their cellars and was at the correct temperature. We sent it back and miraculously they managed to bring one that was at the correct temperature. The restaurant was very busy and we would have accepted a certain level of delay but the attitude of the staff was very much a case of "take it or leave it". One felt they were just cashing in on the tourists and frankly didn't give a damn. Very shortsited as these establishments do depend on tourists coming back and neither we or any of our friends will even go near this place again. What was meant to be a very enjoyable celebratory dinner turned out to be a disaster compounded by the fact that this was the last night of our holidays. Please take note" La Vache sur le toit" that you are in the hospitality business and your customers are your living. Curtesy should be top of your list when dealing with the public and you might even be forgiven for some very mediocre food. Wake up.

interestingly-named restaurant with some interesting dishes. went as a couple, my choice of suckling pig was serendipitous; truly delicious soft meat and crackling my reward for being adventurous. My wife had a very decent duck breast and chips. My only point of dissatisfaction...why can't we get two veg anywhere in France?all in all I'd recommend this place for families and couples, very fairly priced.

This restaurant is friendly andaccommodating with good food at reasonable prices.we struggle to find vegetarian options in France so we were pleasantly surprised they had vegetarian pizzas and the waiter also spoke English helping me ask for a tomato based-pasta dish which was delicious. Very good
