I don't know much about French food, but the place was nice. Many people make reservations, but when my wife and I went, they sat right away, they just opened up so they were not busy. When we left, it started to pack, so if you have more than two people, it might be best to make a reservation. The food is not cheap. On average, a record is about $26 if I remember correctly. That wasn't a shutdown for me because I wanted to treat my wife for a great dinner. The food was delicious. We ordered two appetizers, two appetizers, two desserts, a tea and a bottle of wine. La Vie has been one of our restaurants for over 20 years. You can have an excellent French/Vietnamese meal at a very legible price. Meals include fresh bread and butter, soup, salad and duck in the middle 20-dollar range. Corkage is very reasonable. Excellent service. Not unusual, but food is very good and worth a visit. They won't be disappointed. Reservations recommended. Both interior and exterior seats. We always enjoy our visits to La Vie.

Came here when I visited LA for a week and half back in 2020, it was just the beginning of the pandemic in early March, so the restaurant was quite empty for a Sunday night. Excellent food for the price. Had the Eskargot, Lamb, Souffle and Crème brule and everything was excellent! The staff was very friendly and the quality of the food is better then some expensive 5 stars French restaurant. I'm coming back to LA!

The place is very humble. Really clean. But hole in a wall. The service is pretty good. The owners check their customers and serve them. Souffle was just fine. Cream Brulee just fine. salmon was cooked well; but flavors were a little missing. The SeaBass was AMAZING. Although I can do without the sweet potato puree. I don't think it's complicated by the court. Overall, I would come back for SeaBass, but that's it.
