Nous n'avions pas l'intention de diner plutôt que de simplement déjeuner, mais nous nous sommes soudainement souvenus avoir vu ce restaurant en passant précédemment. Heureusement, nous avons pris la décision de nous arrêter. Le déjeuner dans les restaurants de Bretagne tend à être strictement à midi et arriver à 13h sans prévenir peut signifier une déception. Cependant, nous avons été accueillis lorsque nous avons dit que nous n'étions pas pressés. Mes grands-parents habitent à courte distance en voiture et viennent ici depuis de nombreuses années. Ils en parlent en termes dithyrambiques et affirment qu'il n'y a pas beaucoup d'endroits meilleurs autour. Malgré le fait que je viens dans la région depuis de nombreuses années, je n'avais jamais eu le plaisir de visiter avant maintenant. Eh bien, quel délice j'ai manqué ! La nourriture était d'une qualité exceptionnelle et sérieusement, je n'ai pas goûté beaucoup mieux. Le chef est hautement qualifié et toutes les saveurs se mêlent parfaitement. Really enjoyed this place. Picked it from Trip Advisor for a Sunday lunch stop en route to Saint-Malo, about 20 miles away. It was packed, so glad we had booked. It is a family run picturesque restaurant by a small lake and the food was fabulous. Good service too, really helpful, judging everyone's pace of eating well and reacting accordingly. I had tartare of crab to start: this turned up looking absolutely beautiful with lots of little flowers and sauces on the plate - and it tasted every bit as good as it looked. I cannot sing the praises of this place enough. The location is beautiful around a small lake, with beautiful flowers and garden. You are greeted by very friendly staff who give you time to chose your aperitif. They clearly love food here as each item on the menu will be explained and recommendations for wine given. The menu its self is lovely. Lots of choice and many interesting combinations. You are not rushed to choose or to eat like in England. The homemade bread is warm and tasty and between courses there are complementary 'amuse bouchée' provided. You must visit this hidden gem if you are in the area. The highlight of my visit to Rennes last weekend, was an amazing dinner at La Vieille Auberge. The restaurant is located in Hédé, close to Rennes, and everything from the starters and entrees to the desserts and wine pairings were perfectly prepared and considered by Chef Jean-Marc Leffondré. The host, Eric Leffondré, and waiter were prompt and extremely polite, adding the family feeling to an already charming and romantic ambiance with the stunning views on the pond and surrounded by nature.

A very friendly restaurant with an excellent atmosphere. The food was superb and the prices very reasonable. The owner was very pleasant and, what's more, very tolerant of my basic (to say the least) French! A shame it was our last night when we found it or we would certainly have gone back.

We found this jewel of a restaurant just by chance when getting off the motorway.It is located in an ancient mill, a charming historical building that offers various types of menus all of the highest quality.Service and kindness are also top notch!Highly recommended!

Great restaurant do not miss if you are in the area Superb food at prices that you will never see in England If I have to be picky, the wine list is not very interesting
