"We saw the mixed reviews but thought the location on the lakeside was attractive. Everything was just ok but nothing special. We all had Filet de Perche of which we have had many over the years. Dish looked tired with a strange side of carrots. Was not one of the best but as said just ok."

We went there several times and really enjoyed the wonderful surroundings. You sit over-looking Lake Geneva with ducks, grebe, swans and even fish bobbing about between the moored boats. It is attractively decorated with flowering plants and has sun shades to protect from the hot sunshine when needed. It 's a place for having coffee, meals, ice-creams, drinks or tea. Every day there is 'special ' which is very good value. We were happy with the service we received and many of the the staff speak English although we did practise our French. It does get busy.

On a sunny day many restaurants in Evian are shaded la voile has full sun and is on the lac so that’s the main reason to come here. Food was not terrific quite basic, not much flair or attempt at presentation. Waiters were quite good I saw some negative comments on other reviews but in April 2019 the waiters were hospitable and humorous. Oh my wife’s spritz was flat. Okay for a one off. I don’t think this place would have repeat or regular visitors!

Very busy restaurant with most tables booked by large groups of French families. We were lucky to get one of the last tables for 2 on Sunday. Sat under the shade of the canopy, enjoying the view of the port. Friendly quick service. We both ordered fillet de beouf en moutard which was very tasty. Nice spot if you can get a table.

The basic ingredients are fine, but there is no cuisine. The Rice accompanying the fine lambshops was uncooked, fries instead, could be standard anywhere, vegetables were just plain carrots, the 2 options of wine by the glass were totally basic. In short, the setting is the thing. Best to fo for the salads.
