We recently visited Dresden for a few days and had a very nice light dinner at Cafe Aha, a vegetarian and vegan friendly cafe just off Altmarkt square. Opening hours are 9am to midnight daily. During our visit we enjoyed the pumpkin soup and the vegan Saxon potato soup, both being large servings and flavourful. Simply put, these were very good soups, much enjoyed on a cold winter day. We would be happy to enjoy these on a regular basis and to try the other soups and foods at Cafe Aha. Soups were enjoyed with tea and a Chai like coffee drink that was fine. It is nice to see that vegan dishes are offered here. Breakfast, main dishes and dessert. The celery carving was very delicious, although too little spicy for my taste. But overall the amount for this price was simply too small. I wasn't tired. As a dessert we had the delicious homemade chocolate mandel breakfast. That was very saturating, so I recommend it to two parts. The coconut taste is very remarkable, but he didn't disturb me. Here too we found the price too high. To be hontest, I am a little underwhelmed by their meals. (The vegan options are clearly marked on the menu, which is a plus) But the tea and coffee tea they serve is wonderful. They offer a good variety of both of them and whenever I went there, they always had at least one vegan cake or pie. The atmosphere is super cozy and warm. Most of the times I was there the staff was very attentive, rest of the times service was okay.
Thank you. Thank you for giving a voice and a face to the so long painfully missing 'other' Dresdens. The proposal for routing is constructive and easy to implement, I very much hope that it will be implemented soon so that I can visit my beloved Dresden again and return to you!

A very pleasant, cosy place, just steps off Altmarkt. I was looking for some vegetarian food, and was very happy to find Cafe Aha. Came there twice for dinner. Tasty food, friendly staff (English speaking too, plus English menu available), very affordable. I would go back.
Had the lentil stew and a coffee, there was a mix up with my order so they end up refunding my meal, which I didn’t expect. There English wasn’t to bad, also make sure you ask for the English menu
Wide range of vegan cakes and hearty dishes. Plant milk alternatives are offered. Coffee with spices is great.
