Lake Alpine Resort

There is a lodge, and I'm sure the rooms are wonderful, and the service is probably spectacular, but I did not experience any of that. I'll have to try it sometime. I always camp out down the road a bit and just come for the fishing. Great seeders, even some wild. Caught a big wild trout here once a few years back. Beautiful quiet location. Nothing compares if you're looking for a good high elevation spot this is it. There are plenty of camping spots down the road. The main camp is always full, so reserve it way ahead of time, or you'll end up camping .3 to 23 miles away. Day use spots are plentiful, and each picnic area has an in ground fire pit/grill. This is a review for the restaurant, never stayed at the Lodge, but been to the restaurant many times. Awesome place to go and enjoy a great meal when you're in the area (Fish Tacos were great), if you're visiting Calaveras County, Bear Valley or the Murphys Arnold area it is a short drive up the pass. Nice food and drink selection, been during the summer on the weekends, and there was always live music to enjoy while you eat. This place is just across from the lake so if you come out to enjoy the lake for the day or just want to enjoy the view and great food it is an awesome choice!

I drove my mom up to the lake to get out of the heat and get some dessert. A beautiful place to relax and enjoy the cool air. Mom love the gift shop and ice cream, while I got a cool beer.
