Lanterne rooms has always been on the to try list of a little more upscale restaurants in Canberra. Firstly I must say the venue atmosphere and vibe was very nice, cozy yet lively. The inner decor was also was modern yet classic. The staff were friendly and service was pretty quick and smooth. We had the tasting menu. The food overall was tasty with the highlights being the entree bean curd skin wrapped sausages and Tom yum prawns. The dessert was basic but definitely had quite a few elements within. The mains were ok, nothing too special or unique. Overall good experience and recommended for those that don’t eat much Chinese style food.
This place provided an amazing dining experience! Very classy and professional while still providing generous servings that had us more than satisfied. Would definitely recommend going here while they have the Tom Yum Prawns and Whole Fish with Singaporean Mud Crab Sauce on the menu. They also changed my mind and I'm now a fan of Zucchini, thanks to their Duck Breast dish. Excellent service provided by Adrian and the gentleman whose name we unfortunately did not catch but looked after us well, including offering us extra rice!
Lovely venue, great service which doesn’t bother you too much but still attentive. Been here a couple of times and the banquet menu changes depending on the season. Pictured is a delicious sweet and sour fish wonderful crispness. Always leaves you very full. Have also been to the long lunch and sat in the outside part of the restaurant would recommend for a great weekend lunch with friends.
Excellent. Fixed menu because of Covid but it worked well for our table of four. The restaurant was full and restrictions easing so I suspect return to a la carte soon. Solid and interesting dishes with professional service. Like the best I’ve had anywhere in the world and here in Canberra! Will be visiting again, that’s a given.

We dined here and chose the Christmas set menu and it was unreal. They certainly lived up to their standards of large serving sizes for mains. The starters were amazing and so was the dessert. All round perfection. Deserves a chef's hat for sure. Yours truly @fooderarri
Food was excellent, one of the waiters mixed up mine and the table next to ours orders a couple times. But it was sorted quickly and without a fuss. Perfect for a special occasion, ambiance is great, and you feel looked after
Great atmosphere, wonderful service and exceptional food Tom Yum Prawn and the Whole Fish were to die for. Best for special occasions. The wine selection is also of high quality.
