This family restaurant at the Green Tree in the middle a small Alsatian village is simply wonderful. The welcome by the owner, a charming elderly lady, is warm and accommodating you can speak French or Alsatian with her . As is often the case with family restaurants in European towns, there is a more formal part where gourmet menus are served and a more rustic part where you can eat an excellent menu of the day and enjoy a glass of wine. The menu on the day of our visit enticed us to sit in the less formal part of the restaurant but once we saw the amazing menus served in the more formal restaurant, we asked to switch to a table there a request that was honored with grace and efficiency. Je suis venu ici pour déjeuner à la suggestion d'un propriétaire de vignoble local que je connais depuis longtemps et j'étais très heureux. Pas bon marché mais de haute qualité et atmosphère informelle décontractée. J'avais du pigeon et ma copine du foie gras, tous deux à 27 euros. Une demi-bouteille de Gewurtstraminer de Josmeyer coûtait 24 euros. Le tout revenait à 86 euros pour deux, je dirais que ça valait le coup. We stayed in Berrwiller for a week at the end of August 2015. There are 3 restaurants in the village and when we first wanted to get an evening meal, L'Abre Vert was the only one open. Three days later when we decided to go out again we didn't bother to look at an alternative choice - this is a very good restaurant indeed. On our two visits we had both set menus and they were excellent. service is attentive without being too fussy or overbearing. The wine list is strong on Alsace (of course) but has good stuff from around France as well. On our first visit we were not happy with the wine we ordered and it was promptly replaced. Unreservedly recommend the restaurant.

I have been to the restaurant on Aug 13 with my family of 4 and had a great experience. If you happen to go through Berrwiller you would never imagine to find such a nice restaurant unless you know it already. Staff was really professional, fast and always ready to help and solve issues. Food is really good and you can feel that raw materials are at the foundation of the traditional but modern cousine they offer. Wine list is really comprehensive and able to satisfy any taste (not only French but international). Price is in line with the quality offered. I would definitely go back and explore more specialties. Merci beaucoup!

Une belle expérience à tous points de vue ! Fortement recommandable ! Cadre magnifique. Nourriture incroyable. Vous pouvez tout essayer, le Chef connaît son métier. Tous les serveurs sont extrêmement attentifs et sympathiques. Vous avez l'impression d'être chez vous.
