L'Ardenave Cafe Restaurant

Perhaps we went too early in the evening, or maybe it was just a bad night to go, as we were the first in the restaurant on a miserable day. The young lady who served us (Marion?) was pleasant and cheerful. I chose the Ardechois menu and my husband chose the Menu Essentiel which the server recommended. My starter was a selection of cold meats and very tasty, whilst he had the warm goat's cheese salad, again very nice. The server kept checking how we were doing and I thought this was just being a little eager to please,however as soon as the starter plates were removed the main course was placed in font of us and this is what she had been waiting to serve. In the beautiful village of Labeaume, this beautiful cafe/restaurant situated right by the river. What a spot. Though we were not hungry to try the food but were able to order only coffee. The server was absolutely helpful and spoke very good English. She told us this is the best time to visit before the tourist crowd and summer holiday season when this area is very busy. Labeaume village is an absolute delight to explore on foot and see its natural beautiful cliffs.

A great setting facing the sheer rocky sides of the gorge and river. The town itself is very pretty and this restaurant with its huge outside terrace is the perfect place to eat. We ate early as we were going to a music concert outdoors by the river; the waiters were very efficient and ensured we had all we needed before our performance. There was plenty for children and my moelleux de chataigne was sublime. Good food for meat eaters and reasonably priced.

The owners made us very welcome. They both speak English. The wife took time to answer all of our questions about the menu, the town, and the area. Truely a hospitable place.We ordered off of the menu. The meal began week with a carrot-cucumber salad. The porkchops were thick and perfectly cooked with a wonderful seasoning and glaze. Duck breast was beautiful. Scalloped potatoes were a great side. DESSERT - Walnut cake with walnut ice cream is a must.

Three visits in 2 years: very nice every single time!Very friendly service, excellent food, beautiful location.If you are nearby, do visit this place. The town is beautiful, the beach is nice and you'll definately enjoy the restaurant.Thank you Rhea for your service and friendlyness every time. Perhaps we'll meet again next year.

Avec Earls, je commande généralement de la nourriture à emporter. Ça fait quelques années que je le fais. Le personnel est toujours très amical et je n'ai jamais eu de commande incorrecte.

Mediocre is the word, food tastes like microwave food for the price of a top restaurant, look beyond this profiteers nice location. There is enough competition in Labeaume.

We had a great meal. The house specialties were very good. Nice price-quality ratio. Our hostess was also very kind and speaks English very well. We would come here again.
