L'Ardoise avait été recommandé par un habitant local. Nous avons été en train de découvrir la région à l'est de Bordeaux et cherchions un endroit agréable pour déjeuner entre deux visites de propriétés. L'Ardoise est idéalement situé sur la route de Moncaret au village attrayant de Gensac. Il dispose de beaucoup de places de parking et d'une terrasse ombragée confortable pour manger en été. La qualité de la nourriture était bien au-dessus de ce qui est normalement attendu dans les petits restaurants de campagne. Chaque plat, de la salade d'avocat et de crabe au rouget et aux rognons avec des pommes au cidre, avait un équilibre de saveurs bien choisi et était magnifiquement présenté. La liste...
Nous avons visité 'l'ardoise assez fréquemment au cours des cinq dernières années et c'est devenu un favori pour toutes sortes d'animations. Notre dernière visite a été notre première cette année et sera malheureusement la dernière jusqu'à Pâques prochain. En été et au début de l'automne, c'est un grand plaisir de dîner en terrasse, bien que la salle à manger intérieure soit également attrayante. This is up with the best rural French restaurants I have eaten in (alongside Les Deux Anges in Forcalquier. My wife started with smoked salmon, green lentils and asparagus, which was magnificent. I went for Chevre Chaud salad, a very popular local dish, but rarely served to such a standard as this. Similarly, mains of guinea fowl, and duck with raspberry sauce, were without fault. As with all restaurants in this area, there is a good selection of French wines available cheaply. If I was to try to pick fault, the lack of an amuse bouche was a little surprising in a restaurant of this standard, but this is a mere detail. The only slightly negative
We love this small, intimate restaurant and have visited for lunches and dinner. In May we had a memorable lunch on the outside terrace. In September it was dinner inside, enjoying the decor and appreciating the comfortable seats . Really good , attentive and friendly service from the owner and impressive gastronomy from her husband in the kitchen. Well priced and selected wine list. J'ai visité le 'Restaurant L 'Ardoise' avec ma famille de fins gourmets (ma femme, ma mère, mon père et mon fils de 2 ans) en espérant un bon repas, et ce que nous avons eu fut le service le plus charmant, le vin le plus délicieux et surtout la meilleure cuisine que nous ayons eu dans n'importe quel pays depuis longtemps. Un incontournable si vous aimez la bonne nourriture, félicitations au chef et à sa femme x x
We visited this restaurant on the advice of where we were staying for a long weekend. I attempted my 40 year old O level French and the waitress responded warmly. A warm evening, we chose to sit outside a lovely seating are. The food was absolutely excellent and the wine was very good too. We will definitely revisit on our next trip to this area. Booking is recommended, but you will be pleased you did wonderful.
Areal treat, delightful meet greet, ate in the superb dinning room, superb stone walls pristine white linen, Eating out with friends we were celebrating. The service attention to detail was superb from start to finish. The Kir Royals are scrummy. A Jmazing lunch from start to finish Merci. We will be back.
The food at the restaurant it totally excellent I 100% recommend this place. I've eaten there a few times and I've sent friends there to eat too.. Everyone loved it. If visiting this part of the Dordogne region of France it is a Must Do Réservez une table maintenant
