On the outside the restaurant looks appealing. But once you're inside, it's a bit of a dissapointment. The furniture is a mix of everyting that doesn't go together. Despite the restaurants name, the art in the restaurant is hard to find or not inspiring (paintings on the wall.) We had the feeling that the owners of the restaurant didn't value the interior of their restaurant. Everywhere they chose the cheapest and easiest solutions, but not the most aesthetic. Besides of the lack of a good atmosphere, it was cold also (big windows of single glass). So, we stayed positive, the restaurant was rated nr. 2 of Soissons, so we tought: the food will be nice! This was again a disappointment. The amuse was a mousse of green peas with whipped cream. This was a bit strange. Then i've got the brochette. The meat was done good, but not better than most people (not cooks) can. The meat wasn't seasoned at all. It was very simple. The pommes dauphinois were bad: It was like they came directly from a supermarket and they put it in the microwave. The chees sauce was missing, it was something white and fluffy instead. The leek in a sort of bechamel sauce didn't fit (in my opinion) with the brocchette. This is a low standard for a french restaurant. I know you can't compare this to a restaurant in Paris, but there you can eat way better for a way cheaper price, and that's the capital city.

We arrived without a reservation and from outside I thought it looked upmarket and so probably expensive. I was pleasantly surprised: very friendly staff, extremely tasty food, nice atmosphere and not expensive: I chose the menu of the day and my husband went a la carte. Both were delicious. I loved the mix of furniture and the hand- written menus. If I go back to Soissons, I will make a point of eating here again.

Knew we had made the right choice as we were the only tourists all others were locals enjoying Saturday lunch. Very small menu which changes regularly but very imaginative and yummy! Service by the two girls was friendly, unhurried but extremely efficient. I believe it is a family concern and can only say how refreshing it is to have such unusual food. Not a chip in sight. Well done.

We were traveling around in the region and went to the restaurant as a friend recommended it. We had a 3 course lunch. All the meals were very good and had an unexpected touch we enjoyed. For desert the lemon pie with coco was particularly good
