The fact that this Mexican restaurant is seriously overpriced shouldn't shock anybody in this seriously overpriced beach resort in Bahia. But Las Margaritas definitely doesn't get you a lot of bang for your buck. I had eaten there once many years ago and decided to go back for the drinks (you don't usually find tequila in Bahia) and for the fine live music, which is still good enough. This time around, however, the waittress announced nonchalantly that they were out of guacamole. Yes, a Mexican restaurant out of guacamole. No, they didn't offer me anything to replace it. Since nearly every dish in the menu comes with guacamole, that was no minor sin. But there were others: she also stressed...
We are always looking for good Mexican food which is not easy to find in many parts of Brazil. We decided to give this a try. All-in-all it was okay. Margaritas were a little bit watery, but had a nice lime flavor. Quesadillas were okay. Enchiladas were high on spice (which is fine), but limited on flavor and diversity of spices. The space is nice, and the service was fine. Price was okay (except for the margaritas which were very expensive_.
Went there for dinner and drinks last night, had a blast, the food and drinks were excellent and the atmosphere is the best in town. Live music, people dancing and singing. Can't say enough good things! They have a menu in English, the man that greeted us knew right away we didn't speak Portuguese, gave us a menu in English. Sat outside and had a wonderful night!
I've visited this place for the first time... I wouldn't stop on this place, but I've listened the song " stand by me " being played by a band called " Rocket" from Salvador... and everything was perfect, the music , the food... the environment... I really recomend it......
