So much good to say a pleasant environment, a busy dining room, a pleasant waiter, a set menu for 20 Euro per person which included a bottle of wine between two, and three courses. The first course haricot beans slow cooked with chorizo and lamb was delicious as was the pear poached in red wine which came last. The bottle of rose was great. But the second course trout with roast potatoes was really disappointing. It was slightly underdone, the fish and sauce tasted of nothing, and the potatoes were hard. When the bill came, the waiter told me I could not pay with a card. Since we did have enough cash, this meant a rushed visit to an ATM. A cash only policy is fair enough if it is well advert...
So pleased we found this restaurant as not a great choice in Torla Old Town and the couple of other restaurants that looked promising didn’t open until 8pm which considering we were there at 6:30 wasn’t really ideal for us. Really glad they weren’t open as L’Atalaya was so warm and friendly and welcoming. The music was inviting and the host/waiter brilliantly attentive and service great even though restaurant starting to get busy we still got our drinks and food order taken quickly so not a case of shove in as many people and then keep them waiting. Free appetisers too. Seriously impressed with every aspect and feel this should be number one place to eat in this sleepy town.
We went to this restaurant three times and food was amazing every time. It’s just best what we’ve ever tried. Duck, salad with salmon and pear for desert was absolutely delicious.
