Visiting family in Brittany we went to L'Atelier, Sister-in-law very excited at going to this newish restaurant. We were welcomed at the door and shown to our table, the place was about half full. The daily menu was on a blackboard with 2 choices of starter, 3 of main and 2 desserts. Starters were salmon, crab mousse and pressed beef with foie gras or cockles in a sauce. I had the salmon,crab and beef, very tasty, my wife had the same. My Brother-in- Law had the cockles which he didn't like. For my main I had cod in a sauce, not spectacular, there was no seasoning in any of the dishes and not a salt or pepper pot to be seen anywhere. The chef obviously thought it wasn't needed. As far as my wife and Sister-in-law were concerned the desserts were the best part of the meal. L'Atelier looks wonderful, the dishes looked good as well but with the lack of seasoning and atmosphere we won't return anytime soon.
I live in Brittany. Welcomed at door, fairly normal, daily menu. on blackboard. I chose what sort of food I like to eat. Main course, entree, delicious, sauces to accompany, meant no seasoning required, hence no salt and pepper. Well done chef, pepper salt, not needed. Desserts as normal, best part of meal. L'Atelier looks wonderful, great looking dishes, superb value, especially at lunch time. At 18 euros, I will find my way back here, without any problem, despite no seasoning and atmosphere as Geof wrote.
En bref: ne pas manquer! Carte courte pour 100% maison et local. Une robe parfaite et tous les plats étaient délicieux. Carte de vin limitée mais avec de bonnes surprises. Le chef montre son piano et sa jeunesse étonnant la maturité de son art. Le service est fourni avec un sourire et une bonté. Excellente soirée !
un restaurant agréable avec des produits frais et rend à la maison un service agréable et discret dans une ambiance conviviale. un dîner parfait pour fermer les vacances d'une semaine dans le monde secret de la brocéliande grâce et bonne continuation pour découvrir et goûter sans modération
