The restaurant is located in the farmyard of a small village 25 kms south of Paris, famous for its castle and where they celebrate twice a year a plant festival.Tasteful environment and warm welcomeWe started with lobster in small slices with violet potatoes and citrus bed; main course was "pata negra" pork chop that was absolutely soft and delicious, and suckling lamb with season vegetables and gratin dauphinois; the lamb was excellent and melted in the mouth. For the main courses, we would have appreciated to have the pork and lamb served on warm plates to maintain the dish warmer. We then took home made lemon meringue pie with green lemon sorbet, and it was very good, but maybe too sweet.Good advice as regard the choice of wine (Vin de Loire). Definitely a place where we will go again in summer on their beautiful terrace.

A very nice restaurant in a small village away from the hustle of Paris.Visited with colleagues from work and were served an excellent meal with great dishes all around. The only disappointment was that they were out of snails, which they had on the menu. That was the one thing I really wanted to have. Many of our group chose the set menu where you could select from two options for entree, main and dessert.I chose asparagus, beef tenderloin and creme brulee. All very good - but pricier than the set menu.Good winelist with plenty of options for French wines. No beer on the list :-)You really have to make a special effort to visit L'Atelier Gourmand but it's worth it.

The Atelier Gourmand was opened by a couple nearing retirement who have already won and kept Michelin stars in other establishments.Unfortunately, they appear to be coasting just a little on their experience and reputation. All told, not a bad experience, but one can do better elsewhere not too far away.
