Visiting Auvers sur Oise I was surrounded by the life of Vincent Van Gogh and a lot of people. Spending time visiting the sites, I needed a break. It was time for lunch and I found a great place. They were very busy, yet made room for a few more. The place was filled with locals and I knew I found a good place. The food was excellent, and we were not rushed. It was a place filled with smiling people, good service, and very good food. It was fun and exciting, and just what I needed after walking in the long and at times dark shadow of the master Van Gogh. Go there you will be pleased, a good value indeed.

Stopped here for lunch. I will say the the prices were more reasonable than other restaurants in the area. I chose the plat plus dessert special; I had the porc with sauce. The meat itself was tender but it tasted as if tomato sauce had been dumped onto the meat straight from the can. My dessert, a crepe, was poorly cooked, raw in the middle; I ate around the edges but overall it was unsatisfactory. One person in my party had a chicken sandwich which he said was not very good and the other a hamburger which was rated as OK. Fries were good and the service was good. I would try elsewhere for lunch.

We were running late to get back to Amiens and with the time approaching for our long train trip back, dinner options were scarce. The lovely waitress got menus out to us and arranged a takeaway of fresh burgers and home cooked fries. It was delicious, very satisfying and most importantly we made our train. She packed napkins and ketchup as well in our travel pack. Thank you for helping rushed travellers and for all your kindness. Beautiful food too. Pity we couldn't sit down to enjoy our meals in house. Highly recommended.

This restaurant is well located near the house of Van Gogh. There is outdoor seating alongside the main high road. The food is centered on good-quality burgers. However, I tried the chicken skewers and they were well cooked. The food was good and tasty. The fries in particular were of a good standard. The main thing that let it down was the relaxed service. The waitress forgot our drinks and she often was distracted while chatting with locals. More attentiveness would make this an exceptional restaurant.
