My wife raved about this restaurant due to previous experiences there, so it was meant to be one (admittedly of several) of the culinary highlights of our recent visit to Brittany. 4 of us had a lovely meal here this week, we were not disappointed. The bon bouche trio made delicious tasty appetisers. I then had oysters done with an imaginative relish that really added to the taste whilst not masking the fresh oysters. My main...was lamb chops green beans, hardly a fair description of the most succulent lamb and delicious incredible accompaniment. We have had a 2nd home in the region for 21 years, and have tried almost all restaurants for miles around. This used to be a seriously starred place, with prices and pretensions to match fine for a very special occasion, but too much for regular...visits. It now retains a high level of classic French cuisine with more modest prices basic menu at €25 is brilliant, and the wine prices are reasonable so about €75 for two including wine. The welcome is pleasant and unpretentious, while retaining the classic features of a fine French restaurant, with close attention to the ingredients and details. Try the creme brulée! And the choice of three Muscadets. We thoroughly recommend this place.
I have eaten many times now in this lovely restaurant set around an enclosed courtyard and I have never been even slightly disappointed. The delicious food is always meticulously prepared by Benoit who is an excellent and imaginative chef. His delightful wife, Audrey attends to...all their guests’ requirements with efficiency and charm. The sommelier, David has sought out some interesting wines that compliment the food perfectly. The combination makes for what I consider to be the finest restaurant in Britanny and will return at the earliest opportunity. It also offers very comfortable accommodation if required.

We stayed one night on our way back to Calais after a driving holiday round France. Very clean, comfortable and welcoming. Also extremely good value although eating in the restaurant would probably be pricey. La Roche Bernard is a lovely place and the market on...Wednesday morning is right outside walk down the hill and turn left to find the food area of the market. We would most certainly return if in the area again.
Fantastic food at very reasonable prices. Small menu because everything is fresh and mostly locally sourced with very cleverly thought out food. There’s no point in telling you in detail how good our meal was because by tomorrow the menu will be completely different. If...you’re anywhere within a fifty mile drive of La Roche Bernard you must eat here.
Like winning the Trifecta. Didn't know it was open, didn't have a booking and didn't have a recommendation. Greeted by the chef, Open, full, but they made up a table for us. Food was awesome (Impressionnant). Best steak I have had in France (Chateaubriant) and...the deserts are to die for. We will be back.
