L'Auberge de la Vallee

After moving from the Tarn to the area, we discovered this jewel in one of the prettiet villages in France. Service was super attentive without being fast over the top and we were able to look through our menus about Aperos without hating each other. The appetizers were almost full meals in themselves the rabbit terrarine was excellently included with a Calvados to help it on the way. The most important courses were both generous and equally good. The kidneys in echalottes were excellent and cooked for perfection. The rest of the family had the spits of prawn and the scallops and they were also delicious, just right, hot and wolfed with gusto. Of course, the dessert course was amazing. Tarte...

Visité aujourd'hui pour déjeuner sur la terrasse avant car nous avions notre chien avec nous. Ma femme a pris le déjeuner spécial composé de côtes de porc et de frites, j'ai pris le poulet et les frites. deux excellents repas de base, servis par une serveuse très sympathique. Les desserts (Tarte Tatin et framboises caramélisées) étaient également excellents. Un demi pichet de cidre maison à 14€ c'était un peu cher, mais très savoureux !!

We had a fantastic evening meal here. The location is excellent, the food was outstanding. One of the best meals we have ever had. It was cooked just as we had asked. The staff were extremely friendly. Service was excellent, generous portions, excellent value. The waiter even ran half way round the village to find us as I had left my camera on the table. Thanks to Gaetaen, Cynach, Corinne (the boss!! and Philippa. We had a great time.

Set in a picturesque village which has a surprisingly good choice of eateries for its size. Friendly, efficient service. Varied menu and wine list. Food well cooked and presented. Great location, if a little overpriced. Mrs Plonk did have dessert, so they must be doing something right!

Après plusieurs mois de fermeture en Asie, ce fut une expérience mémorable. Toujours vérifier le plat du jour, les sardines grillées, à la perfection, et essayer leur cocktail maison.
