Driving through the town of Ferte-Saint-Aubin at lunchtime we detoured off at the sign for "Auberge" and found ourselves at this Michelin gem. We sat outside beneath an awning with local clerks and a group of road workers who obviously knew where to eat well for lunch. Enjoyed a delicious salad starter drizzled with white wine vinegar followed by two tasty veal escalopes in a creamy sauce with a side of potato gratin and vegetables. Hot bread (of course) and a carafe of wine included. Then a cheese course and finally a delicious apple dessert with ice cream. Every mouthful was so tasty and delicious. Pour les voyageurs internationaux, je recommanderais ce lieu pour une cuisine locale traditionnelle vraiment bonne et à prix modéré. Il est conseillé de réserver une table avant d'y aller. L'endroit est dirigé par peu de personnes et ils ne peuvent physiquement pas accueillir plus de 30 personnes. Il y a quelques familles avec de jeunes enfants. Nous avons remarqué quelques touristes hollandais. Le menu à 20 euros était très exigeant et délicieux. Ce restaurant propose également d'incroyables crêpes. J'espère que cette critique les aidera. Je souhaite vraiment qu'ils apprécieront ce restaurant confortable, traditionnel et abordable.
Parfois, on découvre les meilleurs endroits par hasard. Au cours d'un long trajet à travers la campagne, nous nous sommes arrêtés dans la petite ville de Ferté-Saint-Aubin, craignant de ne pas trouver grand-chose d'ouvert en ce jour de Saint-Sylvestre. Mais nous avons eu de la chance. Le couple de propriétaires avait préparé un menu spécial à un prix très raisonnable pour le réveillon du Nouvel An, qui était bien meilleur que tout ce que nous avions essayé au cours de notre semaine, y compris pendant nos déplacements ! Des gens sympathiques, un service rapide, une excellente qualité.
We very often drive from the Pyrenees to northern Europe and Brinon-sur-Sauldre is about half our way. It is a lovely, quiet town and La Solognote is a charming place to stay. This time we had a friend with children with us. The restaurant has a very good deal for kids, they get smaller portions of the menu at a very good price. The food is excellent, with many local products, and also very good wines on the menu. Also the rooms are very comfortable with well equipped bathrooms.
