The actual place is fairly average inside but they have a lot of interesting old theatre posters on the wall from 50's-60's so some nostalgia there. If you go to Lawley's Bakery and Cafe you must eat cake! They have dozens of cakes and pastries to choose from and all fresh and bright. You are spoiled for choice. They also have fresh pies in about 10 varieties, hot chips and other quick lunch type foods. Plenty of fresh breads to choose from too for taking home. Many coffee choices (but I'm not a coffee connoisseur and coffee is over-rated anyway). I go there for the fresh pies and cake! It's a great place for lunch if you want a steak&pepper/chicken/cottage pie & coffee & cake for around $15...
Waaaay too much deliciousness to choose from! From this top bakery I've had the sourdough baguette which was lovely.On the sweets side, it's near impossible to get in and out of this place without trying something! The vanilla slice - absolutely delicious, really good pastry and strong vanilla flavour. Vanilla custard filled doughnut - so creamy, smooth and really delicious custard. Salted caramel doughnut - wow! sugar overload but really good although the caramel wasn't very evenly distributed so be warned in case you're sharing as you might miss out on caramel your half!Coffee is alright, I probably wouldn't return for coffee but just cakes, sweets and bread. Yum!
Great choice of breads, cakes and other goodies. Shame about the two staff that were on duty on Sunday morning 5/6/16. They certainly were not busy, with one table occupied and one other customer at the counter. My wife and I were wondering if we would ever get served. Both staff that were on duty clearly either had a big night out or just simply did not want to be there. No personality at all. Just looked grumpy and generally very unfriendly. Shame as good quality choices at this venue.
It wasn't terrible but just not what I had in mind for breaky. Great range of breads, pies are delish.. Even service is friendly and prompt. It's just the quality of food for what you would expect for an area like mt lawley, for the price.. I did not find it to be fair. Food wasn't awful by any means. Just seemed to missing love and care and would definitely not return due to that. Can't fault service though. The chick that served us was very friendly, patient and genuine! Had a lovely breakfast here recently and was very impressed with the Service and the "vibe" of this great Café/restaurant. Coffee was very good and there was lots to choose from off the very creative Menu. Definitely "the" place to go for breakfast. I'm sure from the look of those cakes and sweets on offer, just a coffee and cake visit would be exceptional also.
Ordered a chai, coffee and some dine in breakfast.Chai was made with not enough powder flavour so was more milky tasting, and the brekky wrap didn't burst with flavour, rather bland. Coffee did taste pretty nice though, made by the same lady.Overall it was okay. Not sure if I would return.
