Friday evening, where do we go....My parents living just around the corner, we went to the 128.It's a Italian/French restaurant, very modern style, an art lounge place, things that usually make me more than doubtfull when it comes to the food: expensive, more pretty than tasteful, and letting you want to go to MacDo after because you're still hungry :-)But not there.Great choice, very good food, adnreally enough!!We were in the smaller corner and actually, as one of the guests said, it can be a little noisy but I really prefer this background noise coming from happy people than a stupid italian pop/charts/whatever music one can hear in some place...Three persons were working, the boss, very smiling and elegant, a young waiter bringing wine and clear tables, probably learning and a little older waiter, who was really fantastic.This guy was fast and mastered to serve and look after more than 50-60 guests, had an eye on every tables.Of course, it wasn't cheap, but good things have a price and we were happy to pay the bill (and give a good tip).I'm going far away, but I my parents will definitively come back.
We wanted something light for dinner as we had lunch earlier. We were early and the restaurant was quiet. Very smart place and looks new. We both chose a Pizza and a small salad. Some olives came out to start with our drinks. The pizza was perfect. The base was so thin just as I like them. It is very rare for me to take a Pizza unless in Italy! The topping I had was excellent. Peppers, artichoke, mushrooms, aubergine, courgette and cheese. With some chilli oil on top. My husband had a ham and cheese pizza. He enjoyed that too. We didn't want anything else as we were full. They had a music evening with a small band later on. A very nice and relaxing atmosphere with attentive staff. You could do takeaway and buy some Italian produce as well.
I had not been there in a very long time. Meal was ok. I took a risotto as my main dish. It was good but nothing exceptionnal. I enjoyed my dessert. But honestly the price I paid for both dishes was not adequate and not worth it. 19€ for a risotto, it has to taste better. Service was ok even though the waitress didn't seem to know everything on the menu. This might come from the fact their their menu is definitely too big. They should propose less choices but focus on the quality of their products.
High quality lunch with great attentive service, the ambience is French but with a menu sourced from Italian ingredients which can be sourced from the restaurant. I enjoyed a tasty risotto with scallops and a great cafe gourmand, one of my colleagues had a pizza which looked equally tasty. The restaurant was busy for a Tuesday lunch with local clientele.I presume we were served by the owner and the service was top level!
