Cannot recommend this spot enough. An ENTIRELY underrated experience boasting amazing cocktails, including the best espresso martini I’ve had in memory. As a huge foodie I usually have at least one critique to give after a night out, but truly cannot award enough praise here. Jonathan and Chloe working the bar were so attentive and kind, like old friends; So personable and informative, while still professional. There’s plenty of history at Île de France and the lovely jazz soundtrack pushes that narrative. Very nice and cosy restaurant. But the midi express did not have enough choice. Nothing fancy as expected. The main dish was a disappointment as there was more crust than the morue with a few greens on top. The tartare sauce was not that great and not enough to seasoned the morue pané. The food was absolutely delicious, thanks to Chef Liam Hopkins. The service was exceptional, exceeding all expectations. This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had.
