We had a truly memorable meal. The waiter for our table (27) took the time to explain the courses and the sommelier provided information on the wines served. The courses were relatively small but as this was a 8 course dinner (menu découverte) the portions were exactly the right size. All tables have a view on the sea, some "first row "but even 2nd row (like ours) still provide a view on the sea. In any case: you should pay more attention to what is on your plate as that is truly what is important at Le Balbec. Close your eyes and open your taste buds! The service, the knowledge and artisan food creator they all deserved to be celebrated. My wife and I managed to get Sunday night dinner after our arrival. Disappointed that they are not open Monday and Tuesday off season. We would have been there every night! They deserve the time off! Everything was excellent and I highly recommend it. Even if you don’t know French, do me a favor and ask each server to describe the food or the wine in French and then ask then in English.
