At a loss for somewhere to eat and feeling that we were running out of time due to the 'kitchen is closed ' situation one often encounters in this part of the world, we happened upon Le Batelier. Having previously run a large hotel kitchen, the...owner is both relaxed and accommodating. So, if you are stuck for somewhere to eat around 2pm, this is a great place to go. We had a lovely salad and then fish, with coffee for two, for €45. The shaded area in the courtyard is very relaxing on a hot summer 's day. Nous avons découvert ce restaurant après une dégustation de vins le matin. Bien qu'il ne semblait pas particulièrement impressionnant depuis la route, il y a une cour ombragée à l'arrière, où nous nous sommes très bien sentis par une journée chaude, tout comme notre Labrador. Le propriétaire était très serviable et amical, et a proposé quelques plats spéciaux. Nous avons pris une salade de crevettes avec de gros crevettes grillées, du saumon fumé et du melon ; et un filet de porc avec une sauce aux champignons et des pommes de terre sautées. This wayside restaurant offers a very reasonable lunch at a great price, accompanied by local wines by the carafe. We parked up in the layby alongside the Batalier on a very wet and miserable Wednesday just as they opened. The menu du jour bore little...resemblance to the advertised specials, or the menu, but the food provided was well cooked, very tasty and extremely good value. Service, like the organisation, was a bit random, but when it comes to I’addition you really can’t complain about what is provided here. Around €30 a head including a couple of carafes of wine (between 4! and 3 courses.
Excellent restaurant français, nous sommes allés de notre nouvelle maison à Lamonzie Saint Martin au bord de la Dordogne (nous avons récemment déménagé du Royaume-Uni). Le propriétaire/cuisinier parle assez bien anglais, le repas était fabuleux ! C'était un dimanche et il travaillait seul, mais il nous l'a immédiatement dit, alors nous lui avons dit que nous n'étions pas pressés ! Nous avons pris 3 plats, il a même préparé un menu dessert de fondue au chocolat pour mon fils. Nous reviendrons très bientôt ! Réservez une table maintenant
Nous ne retournions plus dans ce restaurant à cause du Covid. Nous avons été très déçus des restaurants que nous avons visités pour le déjeuner. Mais nous sommes retournés au Batelier et l'avons trouvé aussi bon qu'avant. Le patron travaille seul et parvient à livrer un très bon "plat du jour". Tous les plats sont frais et cuisinés à la minute. Nous recommandons vivement ce restaurant (ne vous laissez pas tromper par les apparences) et je suis sûr qu'ils l'apprécieront autant que nous.

Bien qu'ayant déjà plusieurs tables le dimanche midi pour servir et travailler seul, notre groupe de 5 Anglais a été chaleureusement accueilli et servi avec un excellent déjeuner à 3 plats. un hôte sympathique qui parle également anglais. nous y définirons à nouveau, car c'est trop loin de notre maison et nous savons que nous sommes à nouveau les bienvenus.
We visited this restaurant and were very glad we did. The outside of the building is unassuming and there were roadworks right outside but we made our way in and were pleasantly surprised. The owner is very welcoming and friendly. The food is simple but...very tasty and definitely good value for money. We would definitely recommend this restaurant. Réservez une table maintenant
this restaurant was found on a bike tour of bergerac. first day we stopped and had a drink, but the terrace so much we thought we had to eat here. After we came back today, we had a nice authentic lunch with beautiful homemade paper and good wine. a really friendly owner and worth a stop when they are close.
