Il y a quelques jours, je me suis arrêté au Bristo pour prendre une bière en revenant de Cap Gris Nez. C'était une journée terriblement froide et pour aggraver mes malheurs, il pleuvait. J'ai donc garé ma Harley à l'extérieur du restaurant et je me suis précipité à l'intérieur, dans la chaleur du restaurant. J'ai commandé une bière et je me suis assis un moment sur un tabouret au bar. Je dois admettre que les trois belles dames qui dirigent le restaurant sont incroyables. Elles m'ont aidé à trouver mon chemin vers le cap Blanc Nez sur une carte. Bien que nous ayons eu des difficultés de langage pour communiquer, elles m'ont aidé à tracer mon itinéraire sur la carte. Nous avons choisi ce restaurant après avoir vu ses critiques sur Trip Advisor et avoir passé quelques heures à explorer Cap Gris Nez en revenant vers l'Eurotunnel. Nous n'avons pas été déçus. Comme l'avaient prédit d'autres critiques, les autres convives étaient des habitants locaux, certains évidemment en pause déjeuner. La serveuse nous a accueillis chaleureusement et a accepté notre français assez moyen même s'il était clair à la fin qu'elle parlait très bien anglais. Un menu fixe intéressant à 24 euros était un peu au-dessus de nos moyens après avoir passé le week-end à manger à travers la région, mais nous voulions un plat simple, que le menu fournissait plus que suffisamment. We chose this restaurant having seen its reviews on Trip Advisor and having spent a few hours of the morning exploring Cap Gris Nez on our way back to Eurotunnel. We weren't disappointed. As predicted by other reviewers, the other diners were local people, some obviously on their work lunch breaks. The waitress welcomed us warmly and accepted our fairly poor French even though it was clear by the end that she spoke very good English. This little hôtel, pension,restaurant is exceptionnel and very welcoming...the food was fantastic,fresh and very tasty...the service excellent and very friendly! One of the best we experienced in France over a two week period...I agreed to eat indoors when it was recommended due to hour of the day and the sinking sun. Glad I made that décision.Your site asks if it's fine dining? at it's best ! I spent an evening here with my family (grand children, ex-husband, daughter & her partner) 2 days ago. The food was OK, fresh fish etc, but not "top". For example: chips were not fresh made but deep-frozen, scallops were sinking in too much too cheesy sauce. The price was average, the young people who run the place were warm and enthusiastic. They also have hotel accommodation (which I did not experience), however bedrooms have no toilet, bathroom is in the corridor.
Je suis allé dans ce restaurant après avoir traversé le tunnel principalement à cause de bons rapports précédents. Nous n'avons pas été déçus par la qualité et la quantité. Environ 80 moules pour les entrées et 130 pour les plats principaux. J'avais une entrée et ma femme en plat principal !! . Propriétaires sympathiques et amusants. D'un point de vue anglais, c'était un vrai restaurant français. J'y retournerais.
Went to this restaurant after crossing through chunnel mainly because of previous good reports. We were not disappointed with the quality and quantity. About 80 mussells for starters and 130 for mains ( I had starter and wife had for main!!). Friendly and amusing owners. From an English point of view this was a proper French restaurant. Would go again.
We stopped off after reading good reviews and we were not disappointed. It was a great meal with friendly staff. The children's menu was good and the food was high quality. The seafood stew was outstanding so tasting and very impressive. The moules were great too. Réservez une table maintenant
