Le Bistro De Mario

We were staying in Saint Avold and our hotel did not serve evening meals on Friday, Saturday or Sunday (maybe just the time of year). We were recommended a couple but went on to TripAdvisor and saw Le Bistro de Mario about a five minute...walk away. It was great but be prepared they do not speak English. It did not matter we got by, the wine was wonderful per bottle, our main courses were each, my husband had the Jarrett de Porc, melt in the mouth and I had Mussels, delicious. The restaurant is not big but was full will friendly people all chatting away happily, great staff and in the background gentle swing music. No shouting, or loud voices, one of the most pleasant and enjoyable meals we have had in a restaurant. We will definitely visit again when possible.

Saint est une halte pratique, bouleversée par le cimetière militaire, mais ce petit bistrot est une belle trouvaille. Menus au mur, pas d'anglais, mais cuisine locale simple et conviviale. C'était complet un vendredi. Nous avons eu de la chance même si les tentatives de réservation ont échoué.

No English menu or wait staff with English. What they do deliver is awesome French Food in a quant environment that was so comfortable and relaxing. The wine and dishes were amazing. This truly gave me a much more positive view of French Food.

We were recommended this restaurant by the hotel receptionist. Food was excellent, fantastic atmosphere and the young guy playing the piano was outstanding. All round we had a wonderful evening at Mario's. Will definitely go there again.

This restaurant is proud of it's menu and it's great. Cosy small friendly place to eat and have a bottle of wine.
