Le Bistro Italien

Do not try and find where to eat in Bernay, or at any close-by villages at Christmas time - even if the weather feels like spring - when lunch time is over. So when we were about to reach the town of Evreux and I found in T.A. that Le Bistro Italien was open today non-stop until 22:30 I was delighted! Well, big mistake... To our deception, it was closed, apparently all day long leaving me with a starving companion and my quite unhappy 92 years old mother.Trip Advisor, why can't you penalize those places which accuracy isn't respected?!Thanks

This bistro is open on a Monday night, when most other places are closed, which is a big plus. It was very busy when we went, and has a very attractive outdoor dining area for warm days. Staff were a bit careless and snooty. The food was decent - we had pizzas which were OK although nothing special. It feels a bit overpriced (there's no wine by the carafe, for example) and as though it's aiming to be something it's not quite up to, but we had an enjoyable evening.

You can't help feeling that if the team at Le Bistro Italien just tried a bit harder with both the food and the service, it could be a great restaurant. The location is great, with a lovely multi-level courtyard out back, dissected by a stream. Our food was okay, but nothing to write home about, as was the service, which got progressively slower and less attentive through the evening as things hotted up.

we came here for the Michelin rating and liked it a lot. Positives were the attentive staff and nice outdoors setting by the little creek. Food was good, not great, but the experience was still nonetheless very pleasant. I liked the seafood Duo. Tiramisu was great.

As previous reviews have said this restaurant is not open all day. Was turned away on a Sunday afternoon.
