Located centrally in St Florent this place is intriguing. Downstairs & inside, the walls are brick lined so it's like a cosy cave. Upstairs by way of the spiral staircase there is a lovely open terrace for outdoor dining.The starter of a salad with ham & prawns was huge. There were 4 giant prawns, Parma ham, tomato salsa, toast & salad. At €15 it could easily have been shared. No complaints here.The entrecote steak with fries was €19. the steak was tasty & a good size but the chips-which looked delicious-were soggy. As anyone who reads my reviews will spot we HATE soggy chips. A good restaurant should NEVER serve soggy chips.My John Dory with a buttery Hollandaise sauce & earthy saute potato...
Me and my lady briefly visited Saint Florent during lunch time in full season. As I was not so hungry we ordered only one 'menu of the day' for her. Once they were bringing the food they handed me an extra spoon and fork thinking that we might want to share. It's a detail that matters to me as most restaurants would do faces and be nasty in such situations. My wife insisted I tasted the food and I was in for an explosion of feelings. The soup and later on the fish was mind blowing. Really nice cooked. Desert was average - nothing special but good. We would for sure go there again.
We chose to eat in this unpretentious restaurant after a number of nights fine-dining in Saint Florent. The menu offers a good selection of reasonably priced Corsican dishes. We reserved a table on the upper terrace in preference to downstairs. I had a plate of local meats followed by the magret de canard, a good-sized portion and it was very tasty. The restaurant was busy which is a recommendation in itself.
The worst eating experience during our 2 week stay in corse. Poor and unfriendly service more interested in talking to colleagues/friend rather than clients. Tagliatelle which really was a prefab penne with a 30 cm long hair! in it. Replaced by linguine but with the same sauce? Frites was not crisp. Calamares was overdone and did not taste well. Salad won the price at our table. We dropped the desert.

We chose to eat here on our first night in Saint Florent after having a gentle wander through the town. The menu (and prices) appealed, and the restaurant looked smarter than the average. We were not disappointed - the food was delicious, the wine list extensive, particularly for the local patrimonia wines and the waiter was helpful with our choices and attentive throughout.
Le propriétaire Chef José nous a accueillis et s'est occupé de nous toute la soirée. Le Kid Royal était parfait. La salade de homard aurait pu constituer un repas à elle seule.
Nous nous sommes assis dehors et cela pouvait devenir un peu bruyant et l'on sentait les gaz d'échappement des voitures et des motos qui passaient.
La salade de calmars était excellente et les deux plats de poisson que nous avons commandés étaient vraiment incroyables.
