Par accident, mon partenaire et moi avons découvert ce charmant restaurant bien situé donnant sur la Loire. Nous avons été agréablement accueillis même si nous n'avions pas réservé et nous avons été conduits à une table. Nous avons commandé le Menu Liberté qui offrait beaucoup de choix, y compris des spécialités locales.... J'ai choisi en entrée l'ouef cocotte avec de la truite, qui était aventureuse, savoureuse et bien présentée. Mon partenaire a également trouvé qu'il y avait un choix végétarien bien pensé et a opté pour les tagliatelles, qui étaient également bien préparées. Pour finir, je peux recommander la trilogie de crèmes brûlées. Le personnel, sans exception, était très accommodant...
My lady wife and I had dinner here on a fine night in July. It's certainly a lovely setting, the only place in Chalonnes where one can eat while overlooking the Loire.On a mid-week night it was about half full, as expected, so the unwelcoming service was quite disappointing. We felt as if we'd somehow missed some point of protocol, despite speaking good French.We chose from the set menu platters, which turn out to be starter, main course and dessert, all served simultaneously on a mini wooden "pallet". The food was good, but you would have been better served in a more conventional way. The Romans used plates and I don't think we've improved on the concept since.All in all, we enjoyed the eve...
Fantastic little place right on the river . we enjoyed the platters - a start main and dessert on one board - it did not disappoint. the flavors were well balanced and amazing .i would go back to Chalonnes just to visit this place again - we did not book and went early in the evening , but booking would appear to be advisable if you want to sit outside ( we went in July - just a bit late doing my reviews)
Voici mon avis après la visite du Château de Serrant. Belle ambiance avec vue sur la Loire. Le menu proposait un menu fixe ainsi qu'une carte, incluant quelques plats végétariens. Les portions du menu fixe n'étaient pas énormes mais mon mari a trouvé son plat délicieux.... J'ai pris du foie gras avec un chutney d'oignon et des tranches de brioche rôties. C'était agréable. Personnel sympathique. Bon vin. Réservez une table maintenant
What a delightful little restaurant ! Conveniently located on the banks of the Loire river, the food is simply exquisite (I recommend the "planche" menu). Winding down over a glass of Savennieres while baking in the glorious evening sun was a wonderful experience. The town itself is worth a visit as is a walk along the banks.Make sure you book in advance !
4 diners - 2 satifisfied with theirs - beef in mustard sauce with potatoes and salad, sea bass on a bed of noodles were delicious; sea bass on bed of beans was ok; however cold seafood platter was disappointing. Pannacotta was good. Forget the aperitif maison - tasted like cough mixture! Cremant wasn't cheap. All in all mediocre.
La qualité de la nourriture est très moyenne, mais le prix n'est pas trop élevé. Le deuxième plat est arrivé pendant que nous mangions le premier. Il a été emporté et puis n'est revenu que 35 minutes plus tard, manifestement "gardé au chaud" pendant ce temps. Tout semble un peu précipité... et négligé... mais c'était le 15 août!
We pulled off the Loire Valley cycle route to enjoy a lunch here. They have a specific menu for vegetarians, which is not to be missed. They also have a lovely menu for meat eaters including a spectacularly priced menu including three dishes. All well prepared. Réservez une table maintenant
