Tucked away in the middle of this little hamlet lays the only bar restaurant around. An old school has been turned into Dordogne 's answer to a Hard Rock Cafe. The owner Jean Phillipe has an incredible track record in the French music industry as a drummer and calls upon his many friends from the industry to 'jam ' with him a few nights a week. Couple this with a room that has been turned into a restaurant and you should have the perfect combination. On the plus side, the locals are friendly with many expats from many countries, the atmosphere is fantastic when the very talented musicians and singers are there and the equipment is a truly professional setup. HOWEVER if you simply expect to turn up, have a reasonably priced meal with drinks and enjoy the music, BEWARE!!! Rather than use the music and entertainment to bring in the crowds to eat and drink, the owner chooses to charge heavily for it. On the two occasions that we went, (the 2nd time with 11 people) we were charged an extra 5 euros each for the musicians apart from a contribution box being on the bar without being informed. The food is just above average, but not worth the prices and the drinks are 'Paris ' prices. 15 euros for 'good ' fish and chips was excessive especially when added to high drinks prices and the extra 5 euros for the night 's live music. The owner attempted to play the lack of French language card on us at the end of the night after claiming that we had had 3 bottles of wine, when we had only had 2 many of the group had beers. In conclusion, either skip the expensive food, eat at home and then come for a few drinks expecting to pay for any entertainment OR eat in a 'transport cafe ' type of brightly lit room with slightly above average food at expensive prices and treat it as an expensive night out. When all said and done, it 's a real shame that such a place cannot exist by charging reasonably!

As we were staying in a local gite, we were told that this was ice local bistro, it was rustic and quite, quite lovely... The food was rustic French Cuisine adgreat. We had several nights eating there and one night with lovely live music (karaoke with a live band.... some good singers and some less good) food generally was good and the kidneys cooked in brandy were to die for

Excellent food in this small restaurant owned by a couple who does this out of passion. The food is very good, service very friendly. Traditional Perigord food in a small unpretentious place with a terrace. A wonderful evening and meal. Owners love good food and music, some evening life music. Great value.
