We found ourselves in the centre of the old district of Lyon looking for somewhere to eat. Checked trip advisor and having decided that the local 'offal' specialities were not what we were looking for decided on this restaurant on the basis of the reviews. We were not disappointed. The three course set menu we went for was tasty and spicy without been too hot. The rum cocktails were very tasty and fruity. I started with the hake/fletan, then the john dory/dorade, followed by bannana cake. Phew we could hardly move! Would deffinately recommend this place to someone looking for dishes with a difference. The staff were helpful and accommodating.
Decent food, an alternative to the heavy offal based dishes offered by (the good) Bouchons of Lyon. The restaurant is smart and clean, just off the main square of Vieux. The food is simple, but tasty and spicy (not overly). The young waitress that served us spoke good English and explained all the dishes and which dip/sauce should be paired. I would recommend the taster menu (27 Euros, I think) which allows one to try a little of everything, be warned the portions are very generous. The house wines by the pot are good and reasonably priced for a tourist area. Worth a visit for a taste of French colonial food.
My first taste of food from Reunion. This is a really friendly small restaurant. The menu did not offer a huge choice but everything we ate was really tasty. I had the spicy beef which had clearly been cooked very slowly as the meat was incredibly tender though, for my taste, it could have been a little spicier. Anyone looking for a change from the regular French bistro type restaurant in Lyon could do much worse than this.
Lovely little restaurant amidst a sea of Bouchons where the food is deliciously spicy & tasty. Great service from a young waitress who helped explain the menu in English. The restaurant has only a few tables outside & more inside together with a lovely clean & spacious loo! If you want a change from the usual tourist offerings then this is the place to try.

La nourriture ici est tellement savoureuse ! Je commençais à ressentir le manque d'épices et de riz lors de notre voyage en France et cet endroit a réussi à combler ce besoin. Ils étaient plus qu'heureux de s'adapter à mon régime végétarien et m'ont préparé un curry chow chow très bon. J'y retournerais certainement !
La nourriture ici était plutôt bonne. Les crevettes étaient énormes et les samosas étaient savoureux. Les cuisses/cuisses de poulet avec une sauce spéciale étaient également très bonnes. Le serveur était amusant, mais trop travaillé. C'était un serveur qui s'occupait d'environ 15 tables à la fois.
Une excellente cuisine, très savoureuse et un agréable changement par rapport aux restaurants de cuisine lyonnaise traditionnelle qui remplissent le Vieux Lyon. De bonnes portions, donc il vaut mieux partager.
I enjoyed the fish with light spices ranging from ginger to lemon. A nice alternative to the many bouchons in the area. Reunion island cuisine.

Quel restaurant incroyable ! Ma femme et moi avons dîné ici notre première nuit à Lyon, malgré avoir perdu mon sac à dos en route.
