We first visited this restaurant 6 years ago & the seafood & service was so fantastic we had evening dinner there 2 days running. As we were visiting Arras again we decided to revisit Le Bouchot, for starters my wife had smoked salmon which was ok although she said she had eaten better, I had oysters which were nicely presented unfortunately looked very thin certainly not plump like the ones I had eaten there previously. For mains my wife had the sole meuniere which was just ok & I chose the mussels with prawns cooked with cream & Calvados. The mussels were the smallest I have ever seen, yes there were a lot of them but the meat inside was tiny & the prawns were overcooked & rubbery, the sauce just tasted of cream not even a hint of Calvados. We both had desserts, trio of ice creams & a crème brulee both of which were really nice. It was a disappointing meal perhaps we just chose the wrong items on the menu, I would give it another try if we visit Arras again, it is reasonably good value for the range of seafood on offer & the service is still good. It did get busy as the evening progressed but there were still 1 or 2 tables free, some tables are quite close together & it does get quite noisy.
