We are visiting a senior couple from Canada and were welcomed here everywhere except this restaurant. We were starved for lunch today at 1:30. Unfortunately we didn't get to taste the food we heard was great because we were treated rudely when we arrived and wanted to leave immediately. The woman who was ugly the hostess looked at us as if she had no idea why we could be before her. When we asked about a particular table politely in English, she lied, and I quote: “huh?” rude. I knew the table was set for four, but there was no one in the room and it was late for lunch. Then she sniffed loud and said, "No, that's for four", you can put this a note on a table for two under the bar stacked up...
We dived into this small restaurant, which in a small town for a quick (ok French fast) lunch with friends. The restaurant is surprisingly cute with red ceiling and white, old-fashioned trim. Lunch was the Prix-Fix menu and we were able to order the menu for the vegetarian. Please remember the French think vegetarians each fish so a vegetarian menu includes scallops etc... Lunch was great. Really too notch and our vegetarian friends were able to make cheese ravioli that was served en casoulet.
With three vegetarians and five carnivores who are unable to speak a lot of French, this restaurant and its staff were brilliant. We all had fantastic dishes on two nights with lots of laughter with the staff. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Please stop and enjoy some great food and business.
