We were giving a glowing recommendation of Le Cafe de Paris and decided to give it a go. We booked after looking on their website for a Sunday lunch and really loved the decor but sadly it went down hill from there. There were far too many covers for the kitchen and waiting staff to cope with - this made service painfully slow; secondly, we understood from the website that there was an an a la carte and table d'hôte menu (even on a Sunday) but this was not the case and then three-course menu available was not too our taste nor something we would have chosen and so did not enjoy the food either.Had to wait for ever for water and each course purely down to there being far too many customers for them to provide the service that their price point should be.Will try again, but not on a Sunday lunchtime, when we can choose from the interesting looking al la carte.
I've been living or visiting France for many many years and it seems like those tucked away and affordable restaurants, quintessentially french, are getting harder to find. Well the Cafe de Paris in the village of Brassac is one of them. Simple but elegant in its decor, with the kind of service you would expect to go with it, you are not surprised when your dish comes, perfectly presented, at the right temperature and well, delicious. Try the sweetbread (ris de veau).By the way, the chef and owner Arnaud will buy local and sustainable, whenever he can get his hands on it. This is becoming almost as important as taste. Because good tasting healthy food is as important to the diner, as it is to the planet.Enjoy and celebrate what the Cafe de Paris has to offer.
Tout a bien commencé lors de la réservation par téléphone 2 heures avant d'arrivée, le Chef qui nous a répondu été agréable.Puis nous avons vraiment apprécie la cuisine du Chef et le cadre du Restaurant, service professionnel et souriant.Je regrette de ne pas avoir gardé le ticket de caisse pour le mettre en ligne car le prix était très convenable pour la qualité de la prestation.Nous prendrons le temps de revenir même si il faut faire un détour ! Bon Acceuil dans un cadre champêtre et authentique. Service simple mais efficace.Les plats proposés au menu du jour sont terroir et copieux. La brandade est excellente,mais un peu trop salée, ce qui n'est pas le cas de l'addition qui est plus que raisonnable. A mon sens, bonne table aux portes de la montagne noire entre castres et Lacaune .
