We visited Le Cafe des Art for lunch on Tuesday 30 August, as a party of two families with three parents and four children though the kids are actually 19, 19, 19 and 17. The food was superb and beautifully presented, though the chef looked visibly annoyed that we weren 't having wine (it was lunchtime, and we 're not big lunchtime drinkers). They didn 't really cater very well for vegetarians so our vegetarian member of the group had a starter and a side order of potatoes, but the rest of us had fabulous meals of chicken or beef. The desserts were fabulous too. Great atmosphere, nice staff, lovely food.
Très belle découverte ! La formule bistrot reste imbattable en terme de rapport qualité-prix compte tenu de ce qui se trouve dans l'assiette. Les saveurs sont au rendez-vous, la présentation est impeccable tout comme l'accueil et le cadre. En plein centre-ville, l'établissement se démarque clairement par son ambiance et ses offres culinaires qui ont également le bon goût de changer très régulièrement. En bref, sans aucun doute une adresse à ne pas manquer à Thouars, pour ma part j'ai trouvé ma cantine du midi pour les jours où je veux quitter le bureau.
Wow! What an amazing restaurant, we had the best meal in France at this lovely place which we stumbled across on a rainy day with two young children. We were made to feel really welcome and the hosts were very kind and attentive. The atmosphere was SO French, but it was the food which bowled us over it was simply sublime! We can’t recommend this place highly enough. Sadly we were just passing through so will probably never return, but the memory will stay with us. Thank you so much to the Cafe des Arts, you were amazing!
I visit Thouars quite often as my son lives closeby in Argentonnay and after visiting the Friday market we found this restaurant for lunch. Very French, Art Deco style and the food and wine was excellent with very happy and helpful staff. Average main course 20€, very unusual and presented beautifully. There is a large outside area for warmer weather. I will certainly return again.

Endroit super et original. C'est comme retourner à la fin des années 1920. Un endroit idéal pour s'asseoir et prendre un café, une bière, du vin et un déjeuner. Le personnel est très agréable, le service excellent. Vous pourriez simplement rester assis toute la journée et regarder le monde passer dehors.
Une atmosphère chaleureuse et une cuisine gourmet, je ne peux que recommander ce restaurant bistrot qui a su conserver le charme d'antan. Prix par personne : 10-20 €. Nourriture : 5 Service : 5 Ambiance : 5

Excellent food and service in a wonderful restaurant. We go as often as we can, as a couple or with friends and it never disappoints
