Le Canard Enchaine

Canard is unique. After 32 years in the same location in the city of Kingston NY, it remains, within its dimming cuts, unique French. The somewhat rude waiters in their long white aprons from the bar, the murmur of their non-stop colloquie in French, the whimsical decor in shade of dark wood and shady ochres, the linoleum tied floor in curious configurations, adding to an old world ambience of a bistro almost everywhere in France around 1963. The food is respectable and unfussy. The wine list is good, but expensive. A lunch for two, consisting of two onion soups, two salad nicoise, a bottle of wine and a common crème brûlée came to $187 with a 20% tip, but it is hard to complain if the lasting existence of a place like this, in a city like Kingston, is a miracle in itself

We celebrated my mom's birthday and from the moment we left until we left it, it was amazing. The food is simply best in the area and the service was excellent. We had the pleasure to do with Dan and he was excellent. Really made the whole experience remember.

Start exploring the downtown of Kingston. That was a great place to start. Many specials that were great next to the menu. The waiter was exceptional and really made the whole experience excellent.
