This is still one of the three “haute cuisine” restaurants you must visit for excellent menus in Mougins. We were slightly underwhelmed a week ago by the “pea” menu de marche at lunchtime but it seems to be a thing down here to have menus...that are themed mainly around one ingredient. Interesting and clever but after 3 or 4 courses with one primary flavour we personally don’t think it works. Today however Le Mas Candille provided the perfect location sur terrasse, excellent service and an excellent menu de marche. They now change their “m de m” menus every 2 weeks rather than weekly, otherwise we would have made another visit already but today’s menus was excellent. Ravioles with aubergine...
We planned to have dinner here, but we were so tired we ended up just having drinks, which the staff had no problem with that and instead kept giving us nice treats. I have to mention Laura who was very kind and helpful with everything...we wanted. I cannot describe the view so I have uploaded a picture as it speaks for itself. Please, please visit this place, it is worth it in every way.
Seated outside and overlooking the valley towards Grasse, very much enjoyed this Michelin-starred chef's Candille Discovery menu, served over six courses. Some very interesting flavour combinations, with the roast pigeon and spelt risotto a standout. Some inconsistencies in server capability for such a restaurant, particularly...in refreshing wine and water glasses.
We were staying in the hotel and one of the big draws for us was the restaurant. I have to say, we weren’t at all disappointed. The view is breathtaking overlooking the hills and Grasse. Faultless service discreet yet very attentive and friendly. We...went for the taster menu and every course was wonderful, beautifully presented and delicious. Worth every penny!
