Le Carre Blanc - Réserver une table

The restaurant is situated in a rather drab looking hotel but was reassuringly busy the lunchtime we visited. There was an amuse bouche of pea and mint in a pannacotta. It was thick and rather unappetising. Two of us had the terrine to start and it was good I had the smoked poached egg on mushrooms which was very good as was the bread. For main courses two had the entrecotes which were enormous and unexceptional, one had scallops which were OK and I had the supreme of chicken which was rather disappointing. It was nicely good and hadn't gone dry but it was a bit boring and needed a sauce. Desserts were a disaster. Three had the tarte tatin which it was not. Our daughter said it was the worst...

Nous avons voyagé à travers la France depuis Roscoff, cela fait bientôt 6 semaines que nous voyageons en France chaque année parce que nous adorons la cuisine française. Le menu du dîner de ce soir au restaurant était vraiment exceptionnel. Oui, il est situé dans un hôtel dans une zone commerciale industrielle, mais ne laissez pas cela vous empêcher de venir ici pour dîner car c'est une cuisine de qualité supérieure. Le chef vient de Nouvelle-Zélande et est venu nous parler même dans sa cuisine occupée pour essayer de nous aider à comprendre le menu lorsque Google Translate ne fournit que le mot étrange. I just reviewed the restaurant as a part of the hotel review. It was a seriously pleasant surprise!! We were late, didn't have booking etc.etc.etc., didn't hope for anything good for the evening. And then this restaurant.... With service like in three stars if Michelin and food made perfectly. We were five people and everybody liked the orders; with salmon carpaccio and fish soup worth special credit!!!

We stopped there for dinner, and liked it very much. Good food, good service reasonnably priced. Desserts were ace.
